HARLEY-DAVIDSON

BEGINNING

• Arthur Davidson and William Harley, sculptor and designer
• They came up with the idea of adding a motor to bike
• The first try was a complete failure
• Silent Gray Fellow
• William went to the Univesity of Wisconsin to develop mechanical's skills

FIRST SUCCESSES

• Began to produce in small quantities
• Progresses thanks to the financial and real estate tribute from Uncle John
• A machine was written in s race, beating 80 competitors
• Then, began to progress very fast

FIRST WORLD WAR

• A part of the motorcycles were sent abroad to help the soldiers
• A year later, half of the bikes were sold to the U.S Army
• This period has validated the Harley Davidson as the biggest manufactures of the world
• Present in more than 67 different countries

THE COMPANY

• Is an American motorcycle manufacturer
• Founded in Mileaukee, Wisconsin in 1903
• The company survived a period of pool quality control
• Founders: William Harley, Arthur, Walter and William Davidson
• Produces about 280 thousand motorcycles per year
