  • Septuagint put together mid-3rd century BC to late 2nd century BC
  • Translated into Latin in the 4th century AD - The Vulgate

  • The Vulgate is the version of The Bible we know today
  • Earliest English translation written in the 14th century
  • First Latin print in 1455 - Gutenberg Bible
  • Only Latin was allowed for a while in the Roman Catholic church
  • Eventually other translations were written and printed
