TECTONIC PLATE BOUNDARIES PULLS THE EARTH'S CRUST APART

  • Volcanoes are the openings were magma can escape
  • Divergent plates and convergent motion breaks plates apart
  • Pulls them apart or pushes them together

The Earth
Made up of layers
Outside layer where dry land and the ocean floor lie
Under the crust is the mantle include 67% of the earth and is hot solid rock
The core under the mantle outer part is liquid and the inner part is solid

THE LAYERS OF THE EARTH

HOT SPOTS

VOLCANOES CAN OCCUR WHERE HOT SPOTS ARE LOCATED

The Hawaiian Islands
These are areas where mantle rises, melts and breaks through the crust to reach the surface of the Earth.
