The baby is a zygote,basically the baby is a grouping of the cells.

5 TERMS RELATED TO THIS MONTH

  • Placenta-A round, flat organ that transfers nutrients from mother to baby
  • Amniotic sac- a water type sac that forms around the fertilized egg.
  • Misscarriage- a loss of a fetus before 20 weeks.
  • Endoderm- The inner layer which becomes the breathing and digestive system.
  • Morning sickness- Nausea and vomiting in the early stages of pregnancy.

CHANGES IN THE PREGNANT MOTHER

  • Tender/Sore breasts
  • Morning sickness
  • Skin conditions
  • Exhaustion
  • Enlarging uterus

CHANGES IN PREGNANT MOTHER

  • Heighten sense of smell
  • Going to the bathroom more often
  • Walls of uterus will soften
  • Emotions change
  • Period stops

CHANGES IN BABY

  • Organs start to form
  • Umbilical cord starts supplying nutrients
  • Heart starts to beat
  • Buds start to sprout
  • Baby features start to form

CHANGES IN BABY

  • Slightly webbed feet and toes
  • Veins are visible.
  • Blood cells are forming
  • Brain begins to divide
  • The ears are forming

Because it is so early in the pregnancy, mother and child are at risk for miscarriage. You can eat healthy. No avoid tobacco and alcohol.

Most Patients go every 4 weeks or so. Sometimes twice in a month if you get blood work or an ultrasound
