FIVE PILLARS

SHAHADA

• There is only one God
• Muhammad is Gods messenger
• You have to say there is no God but God once in your life

SALAT

• Ritual prayer five times a day
• Pray before sunrise, at midday, in late afternoon, right after sunset and before bed

ZAKAT

• Give some money to poor and needy
• Helping and caring is important in Islam

SAWM

• Fasting during blessed month of Ramadan
• Do not eat or drink between dawn and sunset
• It shows that God is more important than ones own body

HAJJ

• Going to Mecca once a life
• The Kaaba, in Mecca, is Islams most sacred place
• Some people goes once every year
• Dressed in white because they shed all signs of wealth
• They throw seven stones at the three pillars to represent that the devil is not with them
