My book club members include a group of teenage girls who love romance, action, and a little mystery. In case you are wondering, this book follows the plot of the story Cinderella which is for younger girls, but includes strong detail about a deadly virus and mechanics, for older girls. Also, the romance between Prince Kai and Cinder concludes the perfect book for a teenage girl.
The book Cinder by Marissa Meyer is an exciting story in New Beijing describing a horrifying plague spreading from one person to the next and killing its previous victim. Cinder, a gifted cyborg mechanic, is trying to save her sister and at the same time hide her gift from charming Prince Kai. The only problem is, Cinder is always being hunted down on every street she turns by the cyborg draft testing cyborgs to find a cure for the plague. She reveals secrets about her past and present life that might save herself and the people for what comes for them in the future. Although, Cinder has a very unusual gift that will either save the town, or completely destroy it.
I would certainly recommend this book because the story was so action filled, I couldn't stop reading once I started. The author described the setting and characters so well that I could picture each one with every detail in my head. I adore how the author based this book on the story of Cinderella. She turned sweet, beautiful Cinderella, into a mechanical living cyborg. In case you are wondering, in both of these stories the stepmothers and stepsisters disliked both of them greatly. Once again, I would without a doubt recommend this amazing book.
