WHAT IS A PHONE?
There is a microphone which you talk into
There is also a earphone which you hear the person talking to you.

HOW IT WORKS
The phone converts your speech to electric signals that are suitable for transmission. It then relays the signals to the other phone and you then hear the other person talking.

LAND LINES
Could be handheld or they could be cordless.
Uses metal wire for transmission which picks up sound waves.
First invented on March 10th 1876

MOBILE PHONES
Makes and receives calls in over a radio frequency while the person is in the connected area.
First made in 1973 by Motorola.

COMPARISON
Mobile- has texting and is mobile
Landlines- used as home phones and are stationary.
