The main point of the Magna Carta was to established that no one, including the king or a law maker is above the law. Englishmen received their rights from the law, not the king and the king was subject to the law. This got the colonist mad so they shifted from original colonies to royal domain. Colonist were resolute in their beliefs they ignored the crowns involvement. The crown got alerted that they tried to hold colonies because they were slipping and then protest began.
The purpose of the English bill of rights was to set clear the limits on royal power and was written as a act of parliament. Englishmen had the rights to freedom of religion and political rights. Parliament gave total freedom of speech during debate right to assemble peacefully and petition the right to bear arms, protection of property and liberty. This affect the colonist in a positive way because it allowed them to elect their new ruler.
