•When gas welding acetylene cylinder should be opened 3/4 of a turn

•Oxygen should be open all the way when welding

•Check for leaks with water & soap

• Heat metal before cutting

• Tilt in the direction you're cutting

• Wear closed shoes

•Don't leak gas in confined places
