Summer Maximization Strategy #2

I don’t know about you, but I really love what I do.

That means I could easily “work” 12 to 15 hours a day, no problem.

But this summer, I’m trying something new:

Spending more daylight hours doing other things I love with the people I love.

This week’s strategy is to set a firm schedule that will allow you to both accomplish your goals, and have loads of fun.

If you’ve read my posts for any time at all ...

You know I’m an avid practitioner of the Life S.A.V.E.R.S. from the book The Miracle Morning.

This summer, in an attempt to work less, achieve more, and have more fun ...

I’m arising just a tad earlier to focus on the most important tasks hand for a limited amount of time.

Then, while it is still fairly early in the day, I’m closing up shop and heading out of the office.

While on some days I still have some work commitments later in the day, I will spend the majority of my days this summer not working.

Here are my suggestions for how you can play more and work less this summer, starting right now:

1. Based on the goals you set last week ...

Identify the “needle mover” activities each day that must be done in order for you to accomplish those goals.

2. Develop a schedule that allows you to accomplish the most important tasks.

You may not be able to take most daylight hours to play and have fun, I understand.

Perhaps you could work half days on Wednesdays, take off every other Friday, and a few 3-day weekends.

Put those hours and days off in your calendar as soon as possible...

And communicate {only when necessary} to those who need to know.

Note: Keep in mind that if you are leaving for a two-week vacation in Europe tomorrow morning ...

Today would be a highly productive day.

You would probably focus on the most important tasks, and allow an important activities to fall away.

Right?

Well, treat every day like that and you’d have more time off than you think!

Finally, when you begin working each day, work from a list.

On this list are the most important tasks that must be accomplished that day to move you closer to your goals.

Once completed, shut down your computer, put your phone on silent, and get out and have some fun!

This is the only summer of 2015 you're ever gonna get.

Make the most of it!

{Next week, we’re going to add even more fun to your summer…}
