PRESENTATION OUTLINE

WAVES/SOUND

BY LEXIE GROVE

HERTZ

  • Hertz is the SI unit of waves frequency, where one hertz equals one passing point per second

PITCH

  • The way a person perceived frequency of sound weather it is high or low.

REFLECTION

  • Bouncing back of waves from a barrier they can not pass through is called reflection.

REFRACTION

  • Refraction is the bending of waves as they enter at a an ew medium at an angle and change speed

SOUND

  • Sound is the transfer of energy from a vibrating object in longitudinal waves that transfer through mater.

WAVE AMPLITUDE

  • The maximum distance the particles of a medium move from their resting positions when a wave passes through it is called wave amplitude.

WAVE FREQUENCY

  • Wave frequency is the number of waves that pass a fixed point a given amount of time.

WAVE SPEED

  • Wave speed is how far a wave travels in a given amount of time; calculated as wavelength multiplied by wave frequency.

WAVE LENGTH

  • He distance between two corresponding points of adjacent waves such as the distance of two adjacent crests of a transverse wave is called wavelength.

VOLUME

  • Perceived loudness of the sound determined by the amplitude of a sound wave.
