The Cereus plant (used to be described as a cactus) lives around Northern Mexico, Western Texas and lots of different deserts. It opens at night and closes on the first ray of sunlight. The Cereus plant is also called the blooming cactus. The Cereus plant is a part of the cactus family. The Cereus plant is very easy to take care of. These plants prefer sandy soil, not a ton of water, and a little bit of shade.
