FOUNDING

• It was founded on December 8,1787
• Father Fermin Lasuen found the mission
• It was located in the North side of Lompoc

HISTORY

• During the spring and summer they used the mission for special events.
• The Native Americans made crafts, grew crops, and the women gathered food
• The Chumash tribe lived near the mission
• The major crops were grains, vegetables, beans and peas

INTERESTING FACTS

• The mission once had a flood and a earthquake
• The rebuilding dates are 18-1818
• They wore big costumes during the events

PRESENT DAY

• The dedication ceremony on December 7, 1941the property became La Purisima Concepcion State Historic Park.
• Today on 967 acres are 20 rebuild structures.
