Hertz (Hz)

-Hertz is the SI unit of wave frequency, where 1 hertz equals 1 wave passing a fixed point per second.

Medium

- Medium is the name for the matter that waves can travel through.

Pitch

– The way a person perceived the frequency of a sound, whether it’s high or low.

Reflection

- Bouncing back of waves from a barrier they cannot pass through is called reflection.

Refraction

- Refraction is the bending of waves as they enter a new medium at an angle

Sound

Sound is the transfer of energy from a vibrating object in longitudinal waves that travel through matter.

Wave amplitude

The maximum distance the particles of a medium move from their resting positions

Wave frequency

Wave Frequency is the number of waves that pass a fixed point in a given amount of time.

Wave speed

Wave speed is how far a wave travels in a given amount of time; calculated as wavelength multiplied by wave frequency.

Wavelength

The distance between two corresponding points of two or more waves

Volume

perceived loudness of a sound, determined by the amplitude of a sound wave
