he set up a blockade to prevent all trade and communication between Great Britain
The blockade weakened British but it didnt destroy it
Britain responded with its own blockade they were better able to do this than the French”
With this britain was able to counteract france

1806-1807

British navy stopped ships form the continent as apart of the blockade
Every ship they stop they force them to go to britian and get taxed and searched
American ships were among those stopped by the British navy.
America didnt like this so they WENT TO WAR

1808

Nopoleon's empire was slowly falling down because of his bad decisions
One of them was when he invaded spain to make them accept the continental System
He replaced the spainsh ruler with his brother and this angered the people
For six years, bands guerrillas struck at French armies in Spain
Napoleon lost about 300,000 men

1808 CONTINUED

Russians retreated but want to weaken frecnh so the Russians practiced a scorched-earth policy
after hours fighting, the Russians fell back, letting Napoleon to move on Moscow.
Refusing to let france get moscow they burned it down
With moscow destroyed napoleon turned around to france
His trip to france killed many of his men only 10,000 of 420,00 lived

1814

With limited supplies and soilders Napoleon was weak and this made other counties attack
Britain, Russia, Prussia, and Sweden joined forces against him and defeat him
King Frederick William III of Prussia and Czar Alexander I of Russia led their troops in a triumphant parade through the French capita
“In April 1814, he accepted the terms of surrender and gave up his throne and was kicked out

1814-1815

the new king went unliked among his subjects
Louis’s problems or weakness was all Napoleon needed to try to regain power
Naopleon reagined power and tried to take over for 100 days but was defeated
