PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Our With One Loaf Journey
With One Loaf's journey started with a loaf bread. The blog and Facebook page was set up to promote it
The reason we started With One Loaf was to earn a house for a deserving family in desperate need. We have currently got a sleep out that we put on Trade me. The sleep out has been promoted on Seven Sharp. The sleep out is 4m wide and 2.4m deep. It has a slanting roof, 3.15m at the front and 2.9m high at the back. It also has 1 ranch sliding door and 2 windows at the back. The sleep out is worth about $6,800:00
Trading process
We traded the loaf of bread for 2 DVD's which was traded for 8 wii games. We also got donated a wii console. Then we traded them for a brand new toilet. We also got donated 2 cinema chairs and 2 designer cushions. They were traded for a water blaster. Next we got donated some more cushions and another toilet. We traded that for a kitchen and now we have a sleep out!
The problems
Some of the problems we faced were moving the sleep out from NZMA into the school grounds, getting the sleep out onto Trade Me without having to pay anything and getting views of the sleep out on Trade Me.
Nepal
Nepal has just been hit by a devastating earthquake and we have decided to help a family in Nepal. We all had a vote to put the sleep out we earned on Trade Me so we can make enough money to build three houses in Nepal, as they cost approximately $2,000 to build. We have gotten help from Habitat for Humanity too. We want to help Nepal because at the moment there are hardly any houses in Nepal and those that do have a house their windows and doors are made of cloths and rags. Their houses are about the size of a small room yet about 6 people live in them.
Here our With One Loaf journey ends. A Nepalese family has got a home from just one loaf of bread and a happy group of kids!
