This is a contents page of one of the rolling stone's magazines. It's house style is fairly similar to the front cover that I analysed as it uses the colors white and red. It is important for a magazine to keep it's house style the same every time the issue is published and throughout most of the magazine so that the magazine will begin to recognized by readers for it's signature colors, red and white. The font is black on a white background and is in bold, this is so it can be seen and read clearly by the reader.

The first image that we see appears to be of an performer or artist, in black leather clothing with bright orange hair, this suggests he is from a rock and roll or heavy metal genre, this is just one of the many varieties of artists covered by rollingstones, they cover a huge variety so that their target audience can expand, it seems that their aim is to have something for everybody. Some of the feature's are 'Eminem's road back from hell', 'Bruce Springsteen revisits 'Darkness on the edge of town', 'The GOP comeback', 'Kanye West's dark twisted fantasy' and 'Taylor Swift's huge week'. These varieties of features cover everything from rap to pop to country, this increases the target audience as there is something for everybody who is interested in music to read about.

At the bottom of the page there is information on whereabouts in the magazine to find letters, random notes, movies etc. As you can see, it is laid out carefully and neatly with the page number beside each matter of interest so the reader can see clearly what page to turn to, to find their article of interest. Each feature has a page number in black, bold font to clearly show the reader where the feature they would like to read in the magazine is, this shows convenience. Each section of features has a sub-heading such as 'National Affairs' to categorize different articles that link, together.

Other images involved in the contents page are a black and white picture of Bruno Mars with shaded glasses on and a hat, playing the piano with a page number at the bottom of the image to show the reader exactly where the feature on him is in the magazine. Another image is of Barack Obama, President of the USA, this also has a page number at the bottom - This shows that the magazine also takes some interest in politics, further expanding it's target audience.

At the top of the contents page is the word 'Contents' with a red background and the date, title of the magazine and issue number at the bottom. This is useful as it insures the reader that they have bought the right monthly addition of the magazine. This something I can take into consideration whilst creating my own music magazine.

Overall, analyzing this contents page has given me a better idea of what is to be included and what is not to be included in my music magazine, it has given me ideas in terms of layout and house style, overall, it has helped me massively.
