Slide Notes

The following project is a "readers theater" story retold by students in Mr. McNeece's 4th grade class at New Horizons Elementary School in Wellington, Florida. The lesson was designed to increase student knowledge in the area of Social Studies; more specifically Florida studies. The following links/resources were presented to the students in order to gain prior knowledge on the subject matter. After the students had background information on the subject material we pre-read "Ponce de Leon and The Fountain of Youth" readers theater piece. The teacher then presented the following discussion topics and the students used laptops to record notes. The notes focused on these three questions; what were the character's traits?, what are the big moments/details?, and what is the main idea?
