‘Out, Out—’
BY ROBERT FROST
The buzz saw snarled and rattled in the yard
And made dust and dropped stove-length sticks of wood,
Sweet-scented stuff when the breeze drew across it.
And from there those that lifted eyes could count
Five mountain ranges one behind the other
Under the sunset far into Vermont.

And the saw snarled and rattled, snarled and rattled,
As it ran light, or had to bear a load.
And nothing happened: day was all but done.
Call it a day, I wish they might have said
To please the boy by giving him the half hour
That a boy counts so much when saved from work.
His sister stood beside him in her apron
To tell them ‘Supper.’ At the word, the saw,
As if to prove saws knew what supper meant,
Leaped out at the boy’s hand, or seemed to leap—
He must have given the hand. However it was,
Neither refused the meeting. But the hand!

The doctor put him in the dark of ether.
He lay and puffed his lips out with his breath.
And then—the watcher at his pulse took fright.
No one believed. They listened at his heart.
Little—less—nothing!—and that ended it.
No more to build on there. And they, since they
Were not the one dead, turned to their affairs.

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
Robert Frost
Whise woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

I, Too, Sing America
Langston Hughes

I, too, sing America.

I am the darker brother.
They send me to eat in the kitchen
When company comes,
But I laugh,
And eat well,
And grow stong.

Tomorrow,
I'll be at the table
When company comes.
Nobody'll dare
Say to me,
"Eat in the kitchen,"
Then.

Besides,
They'll see how beautiful I am
And be ashamed--

I, too, am America.

Drumming
Author Unknown
For days and days,
The drummers drum
From five AM till fun is done. Then once more they beat their drums
At nine PM their knuckles numb.

Now Close the Windows
By Robert Frost

Now close the windows and hush all the fields:
If the trees must, let them silently toss;
No bird is singing now, and if there is,
Be it my loss.

It will be long ere the marshes resume,
I will be long ere the earliest bird:
So close the windows and not hear the wind,
But see all wind-stirred.

Smile with your heart
By: Jawahar Gupta
When you smile with your heart
Your blood flush your cheek glow
Do not allow any anger to blow
To inhibit your easy life flow

Magician can make marvelous magic
And God can change situation tragic
...

So better adept in constant change
And never wonder in heavenly exchange

Life on earth is temporary dew drop
But you are bestowed with divine crop

Feel your cosmic eternal vibrations
Free to kiss the infinite radiation...

You all are blessed my God's creation
To laugh, love and Enjoy the life's variation

Without any pride,prejudice and illusion
Without any pain,insult and confusion.

SUCCESS IS MY SACRED WORD
By: Jawahar Gupta
When I think success
When i dream success
I see it comes through
Success is my sacred word

Success is not gained by defeat
Success does not occur over night
Success can emerge at any age
For that you have to create a stage...

Success is not the triumph over regress,
Success is the power to suppress.
Success is not the money or the fame,
Success is knowing you are still the same

Successful success has never an end
Smiles and tears make a perfect blend
Success lies in happiness after losing the game
Success lies in giving credit and taking the blame.
