Ambrose Gwinnett Bierce was born on June 24, 1842.
He was born in a log cabin in Meigs County, Ohio.

When Bierce was fifteen years old he left home to become a printer's apprentice, also known as a "Printers Devil".

In 1861, when Bierce was nineteen years old , he was enlisted in the Union Army.

"Future. That period of time in which our affairs prosper, our friends are true and our happiness is assured."

Bierce became a famous contributor and editor for a number of local newspapers. He became a regular columnist and editor employed at the Hearst Newspaper

In 1873 Ambrose Bierce wrote his first book "The Fiends Delight" in England.

Ambrose Bierce disappears in Chihuahua Mexico!

Bierce is most famous for his book "The Devils Dictonary". Kurt Vonnegut was inspired by Bierce.
