Introduction
The heart is a four chamber muscle that pumps blood to every cell in the body. The blood carries oxygen and other substances to every cell. The blood also carries carbon dioxide away from cells and to the lungs. The heart is a muscle that beats about 70 times per minute. The sheets heart is similar,but smaller than the human heart and gives us a good example of the anatomy of this critical organ.

OBJECTIVES

  • To learn about the anatomy of the mammalian heart
  • To begin to learn about the procedures of conducting a science lab activity
