Wednesday, Week 5, Term 1 ,2014

It was District Swimming today and I am extremely nervous, nervous like I have never feared before. I was in a freestyle relay with Angus lloyd, Matthew Parsons and Dion Lepair. I was also in two more events which were 50m back and 50m free.

Freestyle Relay
The 9/10 age group Freestyle relay was up first. I went first then Dion , Angus and then finally Matt . I was up on the blocks , the starter says..."take your marks!" ...BANG! I was off, I was gliding, we were first by a absolute mile. As Dion went we were still leading but the St Louis relay team was catching up. Then it was Angus`s turn, we were still in front, until the St Louis relay team caught up and we were neck and neck. Then Matt went flying off the blocks, we were flying again and ... WE WON!
"A victory for Aspendale Primary!"

50M FREE
THIS EVENT WAS INDIVIDUAL WHICH MEANS I WAS BY MYSELF SO THE PRESSURE WAS ON. I AM ON THE BLOCKS, THE STARTER SAYS..."TAKE YOUR MARKS!" AND THEN THE GUN WENT. I WAS OFF! I WAS BEHIND THE PACK OF SWIMMERS AND AT THE 25 METRE MARK... I WAS IN FRONT AND WON!

50m backstroke
This was my last event. I was so exited I had two 1st ribbons but I was aiming for three as this is my goal for the day. I was up and the starter said..."Take your marks, go!" I was off hitting the rope heaps of times and suprisingly winning by 5 metres. "Another victory for Aspendale!"

Going back to school
When I got my ribbons from the counter and got back on the bus to school I was most proud of myself. I was saying to myself "I have tried my best, I`ve made it through and now I am proud!"
