PRESENTATION OUTLINE

ORGANELLES

THE CELL AS A SCHOOL

CELL MEMBRANE

ACTS AS A BARRIER
Each room has a wall separating each class. This is like a cell membrane because a cell membrane acts as a barrier that separates internal environment from the cell.

CYTOPLASM

FLUID FILLING CELL
Cytoplasm is a jelly-like substance that contains dissolved molecules. Students fill the school and contain information, similar to cytoplasm.

NUCLEUS

HOLDS GENETIC INFORMATION
A Main Office stores information and controls the school.

CYTOSKELETON

MAINTAINS CELL SHAPE
The dean reinforces the rules, like a cytoskeleton maintains cell shape and function of a cell.

SMOOTH ER

PRODUCES LIPIDS AND REMOVES TOXINS
A school council can accept students into the school and fire teachers, just like a Smooth ER can produce lipids and remove toxins.

ROUGH ER

MAKES PROTEINS FOR MEMBRANE AND CELL
Teachers make test and work for the students, just like how Rough ER make proteins for the membrane and cell.

RIBOSOME

FORMS PROTEINS AND CONTROLS CHEMICAL REACTIONS
Principals create structures in the school and controls the whole school, similarly to how Ribosome form proteins and controls chemical reactions.

GOLGI APPARATUS

PACKAGING AND CONTRIBUTING PROPERTIES
School bus driver takes students to and from school, just as a Golgi apparatus packages and distributes properties.

VESICLE

TRANSPORTS MATERIALS FROM PLACE TO PLACE
Golf carts at school transport people and materials place to place, just like Vesicles transports material from place to place in a cell.

MITOCHONDRIA

GENERATES ENERGY FOR CELL
Electrical room producing energy for the school, like mitochondria generates energy for the cell.

VACUOLE

STORES PROTEINS, FOOD, AND BROKEN DOWN WASTE
Lockers act like a vacuole because they store textbooks, homework, and binders- just like how vacuole stores proteins, food, and broken down waste.

LYOSOME

DIGESTIVE SYSTEM INSIDE CELL
Janitor takes the garbage and waist out ofm school and makes school clean just as lysosomes is a digestive system for the cell.

CELL WALL

THICK RIDGID LAYER THAT SURROUNDS THE PLANT CELLS
The walls of a school acts as a cell wall because it surrounds the school and protects it, just like a cell wall does.

CHLOROPLAST

PRODUCES ENERGY
Cafeteria produces food for the students just as a chloroplast produces food for the cell.
