Ashes to ashes and dust to dust (Ezekiel 28:18)

A phrase that may sound familiar to readers or viewers is the line "Ashes to ashes and dust to dust." The meaning of this quote is that you will return to what you were created from. Whoever wrote the bible appears to have some knowledge of how decomposition works. Real life dead bodies decompose over a period of time, where the nutrients are absorbed into the earth. Since according to the bible, humans were created from clay, our bodies are returning to the earth.

At their wit's end (Psalms 107:27)

Yet again, this is another quote that appears quite often, both in fiction and in real life. This one is "...at their wit's end." The meaning of this phrase is quite simple. It means someone at their most regrettable moment. The phrase popped up in the bible in a different context. This was used when describing people witnessing god's power, the people's courage and skill melting. This could be a portrayal of god's knowledge and form as incomprehensible, beyond reason, space, time, and life in itself. This sentiment is shared by Quran, as it says that god is incomprehensible and therefore seeing god will kill whoever sees him. Even angels are beyond the comprehension of man. When Mohammed first encountered Gabriel, Gabriel had to take on a less frightening form so that he could talk to Mohammed.
