Queen Isabella of Spain

She was born April 22,1451 in Spain.She died November 26,1504.
Early life
- She was raised by her mother until 1451.
- Three years after she was born her half brother became king Henry IV.
- Her life was soft because she was a princess.
Life in the rennaisance
- The life expectancy was only about 40 years old.
- Women were only expected to stay home to take care of their children.
- Only a few people were able to make Grandparent status.
EDUCATION
- Since she was a princess she would have had a private tutor and maybe didn't have that much education.
- Because she was brought to court at the age 13 and young women around that age were expected to get married between the ages of 12 -14.
Isabella's Accomplishments
- Paid for exploration of the new world.
- She protected the Indians from abuse of the colonist.
- Her exploration made Spain become very wealth that is why they called it the Golden Age.
The importance of Isabella
Early 1492 Isabella Agreed to Columbus's first voyage.
She was never really the Queen of Spain and she never had official power.
Her father was John II and his second wife was Isabella of Portugal, that's how Queen Isabella got her name. She was married to Ferdinand of Aragon in 1469 and they had 5 children.
