What is a habitat

  • It is an animals home/shelter.
  • Usually has a food and water source.
  • Fits all the animals needs.

Examples

  • One habitat is a tree to birds.
  • Underground is a habitat for some plants.
  • Another habitat is a river or pond to microrganisms

What is a ecosystem

  • Living and non-living things coexisting.
  • Sometimes made up of many habitats.
  • They share nutrients within them.
  • 3 main types: freshwater,terrestrial, and ocean.

Examples

  • A whole forest can be one to lots of things.
  • Another ecosystem can be a lake to fish.
  • An ocean can be an ecosystem to a lot of animals.

What you would find in a healthy ecosystem.

  • You would find living organisms.
  • Also non-living organisms.
  • There would be air.
  • And a food and water source.
  • And last there would be shelter.
