ISSUE 1- COMPOUNDING PEOPLE MAKING COMPOUNDING PROBLEMS

  • The population growth rates, when fertility rates are high is exponential, not mathematical.
  • For example, if the fertility rate is above 2.1 (3,4,5,6) then population doesn't grow at a constant rate it grows exponentially.
  • Fertility rates are the most important thing to know if your going to predict the future.

ISSUE 2- PEOPLE MOVE

  • Emmigration-- people exiting the country.
  • Immigration-- people entering a country.
  • Refugee-- people who move because they are going to die.
  • People usually move to different places for economic reasons ( more resources)
  • Other reasons people move is because there is not enough jobs, no clean water, or people could move because of the government.

ISSUE 3- CULTURAL CONSIDERATIONS

  • Some cultures like huge fertility rates and they don't care stage what stage they are in.
  • Some religions also prize large family size no matter what the social status is.
  • For example, Catholics and Mormons like huge family size, and Catholics deny birth control.
  • Government policies can heavily affect fertility rates, birth control, and population.
  • A Shrinking population is very bad especially for the economy because more people are needed to maintain the economy and jobs each year.

  • When there is disease in society it pulls down longevity rates.
  • Disease pulls up infant mortality rates.
  • In our world today there is still controversy on topic, can all countries be modernized and urbanized.?
