Arthropods make up the biggest animal class, with roughly 85% of all animals belonging to it.

An arthropod has many unique characteristics.

Arthropods have segmented bodies.

This means their body is made of more than one part.

Some have 2 segments and others have 3.

Arthropods have a lot of legs.

These legs are jointed, which means they bend.

Some Arthropods can have hundreds of legs!

Arthropods have an exoskeleton.

This exoskeleton is what protects the animal.

They are also invertebrates, which means they don't have a spine.

They maintain their body temperature according to their environment.
