PLOT SLIDE

  • Exposition: It has been peaceful in the four clans for a little while, until Brambleclaw has a dream where his old clan leader, Bluestar, tells him to meet up with four other cats at midnight for a new prophecy.
  • Rising action: Firestar, the Thunderclan leader, hears of a new prophecy of Fire and Tiger and assumes that it is the daughter of Fire, Squirrelpaw, and the son of Tiger, Brambleclaw, and that they will come together to harm the forest. He therefore separates them and they leave with 4 other cats to be on their way to they sun-drown place.
  • Climax: The highest point in this story is when they come across a large group of rats and fight for a little while and win, but Tawnypelt has a nasty bite in her shoulder.
  • Falling action: The falling action is when they find the sun-drown place and Brambleclaw falls down the cliff and nearly dies, but is ok.
  • Resolution: The resolution is when they find out that midnight is a badger that tells them they have to leave the forest because two legs will tear it down to make a new thunderpath.

CONFLICT

  • There are many conflicts in this story. Here are a few:
  • There is conflict between clans such as Windclan being thieves.
  • There is conflict between Crowpaw and the rest of the group for the journey to the sun-drown place.
  • There is conflict between twolegs and cats.
  • There is some conflict between Squirrelpaw and her father, Firestar.

CONNECTION TO HATCHET:

  • This story connects to Hatchet because in Hatchet, Brian is
  • trying to survive in the woods. In Midnight, four groups of
  • cats in different clans are trying to survive every day in
  • there home, that happens to be the woods.
