PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Human Body Systems

Focus on Circulation and Respiration

CardiovasCUlar

Includes heart, arteries, veins, capillaries, blood

Cardiovascular System

  • Move oxygen around the body
  • Remove carbon dioxide from the body
  • Move nutrients to cells
  • Remove waste products from cells
  • Provide immunity to the cells and tissues

Blood Tissue

Red Blood Cells, White Blood Cells, Platelets, Plasma

Respiratory

Includes Mouth, Nose, Trachea, Lungs, Bronchi, Bronchioles, Alveoli

Respiratory System

  • Bring Oxygen into the body
  • Remove Carbon Dioxide
  • Body's first line of defense from invaders
  • Warm and filter air

Trachea and bronchi

move air toward lungs

Lungs

In the alveoli, O2 enters cells and CO2 exits

Respiratory brings O2 in so it can travel around in the circulatory system

Circulatory moves O2 around and removes CO2 to lungs

Common Medical Conditions

  • Asthma
  • Heart Murmur
  • Pneumonia
  • Heart Attack
  • COPD
