• Another name for them is the Eastern Woodland people
• The word Cherokee came from a creek word tisolki wich means people from a different speech

WHERE THEY LIVED

• Lived in Great Lake region until Iroquois and Delaware Indians made them go south
• Occupied Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina,South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and Alabama

• Powder their skin with gun powder
• Shaved head
• Same metal bracelet on arm and wrist
• Cloth boots

CULTURES

• Number four represents all forces
• Owl resemblesa old man as he walks
• People turn into ghost after they die
