WHAT HAPPENS WHEN EMOTIONS ARE ACTIVE

  • You might start to drift of the road and feel in a hurry
  • You lose ability to perform driving skills that require precise timing
  • You get to the point where you cant predict what other drivers are gonna do
  • Depth perception and braking distance and etc are increased

DEALING WITH ROAD RAGE

  • If talking with passengers avoid hand gestures
  • Mouth the word sorry if they make eye contact to assure them it wasn't on purpose
  • Stay in the car and whatever you do dont drive until your rage has settled
  • Avoid eye contact so you dont give them bad assumptions

THE DIFFEENCE IN EMOTIONS

  • Anger is severely more common than any other emotion
  • Although anxiety and anger seems to be the same they're different as well
  • Even though emotions can vary from happy to sad, it could be mental or physical
  • Many people believe they don't have emotions when they really do

THE EFFECTS OF EMOTIONS WHILE DRIVING

  • If you are happy, angry, or anxious it is harder to identify hazards
  • You might feel confused or even panic/stricken
  • Anger and depression and other emotions can negatively affect peer pressure
  • Can sometimes be close to being drunk/ driving drunk, driving sleepy, and driving with high emotions are risky

TEENAGE DISTRACTIONS WHILE DRIVING

  • Other passengers emotions effecting you
  • Roadkill and other side road distracions
  • Electronics and other inside vehicle distractions
  • Bugs and other insects and even animals inside car

HOW TO HELP WITH DISTRACTIONS

  • Drive alone
  • Turn electronics off and avoid eating and drinking inside the vehicle
  • If high in emotions, avoid big city streets if you know a simplier route to your destination
  • Dont make eye contact with anybody and just focus on the road

TEENAGE EXAMPLES

  • Boyfriend and girlfriends
  • Sports like big games, etc.
  • Smoking, drinking and use of drugs
  • Electronics are the main one
