DUST AND DECAY

EXPOSITION

  • The exposition of a story is the beginning of a story saying the time, characters and setting
  • Characters are - Benny, Tom, Lilah, Chong, Morgie and Nix, Greenman, White Bear, J-dog and Dr. Skillz, Sally Two Knives
  • Setting - Mountainside, Rot and Ruin and Gameland
  • Time - Sometime in the Future

RISING ACTION

  • The rising action is the events leading to the conflict
  • Main events -
  • 1. Tom, Benny, Nix, Chong and lilah leave mountainside
  • 2. They run into a big rhino that tries to kill them
  • 3. During the rhino attack zoms also come and attack them

RISING ACTION CONTINUED

  • 4. During the zom attack Nix gets cut and then Tom has to sew her cheek back up
  • 5. Chong runs away due to repeated harassment by Liliah
  • 6. The party revisit Lilah's old cave
  • 7. Tom leaves Lilah, Benny and Nix back at the cave while he goes and looks for Chong
  • 8. While Tom is searching he runs into Sally Two Knives who says the White Bear rebuilt Gameland

RISING ACTION CONTINUED

  • 9. Chong gets captured by bounty hunters and is taken to gameland
  • 10. Lilah abandoned Nix and Benny while she runs off
  • 11. Nix and benny head East toward Gameland
  • 12. The bounty hunters throw ching into a pit where he fights a zombie
  • 13. Tom also goes to Gameland where he rescues Chong

CLIMAX

  • The climax of a story is the main event of the story
  • In this story the climax is a big fight at gameland between the good bouty hunters and bad bounty hunters

FALLING ACTION

  • The falling action is the events after climax
  • 1. Lilah gets shot
  • 2. White bear knocks out Chong
  • 3. Benny burns down Gameland

RESOLUTION

  • The resolution is teh solution to the conflict of a story
  • Benny and Nix get out safely

RESPONSE A

  • The exposition does not really affect it because it is the second book of the series

RESPONSE B

  • The events affect them because each one of them become more battle hardened
  • It also affects them cause chong runs off so it causes madness

RESPONSE C

  • The climax affects them because most of them have not seen that much death before

RESPONSE D

  • The falling action affects them cause lilah gets killed so it kills their morale

RESPONSE E

  • The resolution affects them because Benny and Nix stay alive so they can adventure more

FRIENDSHIP

  • "When Chong left, the group was shattered" (Maberry page 178).
  • "Morgie has known Nix since they were six" (Maberry page 47).
