The Revolution

  • 400,000 workers stopped working
  • Russian Economy was paralized

THE DUMA

  • A symbol of democracy
  • Organize elections
  • Write a constitution
  • Constitutional Democracy
  • Autocracy seemed to be over

HOWEVER,

  • Nicholas II retained his veto power
  • Laws had to be approved by him
  • He could block Duma's initiatives
  • He could dissolve the Duma
  • Political Parties had to be approved by him

THE PERFECT AUTOCRACY

  • Used Democracy in his favor
  • Deceived Russian people
  • He dissolved the Duma 5 times
  • Did the Revolution change something?
