  • He invested in a failing flour mill
  • It took him 5 years to become very successful

JOBS

  • Thousands of people worked in the industry
  • The highest paid workers took care of the machines
  • Many lost limbs
  • The packers were the lowest paid
  • Another low paying job was the workers who nailed the flour barrels shut

  • Water- a source of power for the mills
  • Wheat- to be ground into flour
