THE GEOGRAPHY OF MINNESOTA

Geography

Learning about the geography of Minnesota. There is only one mountain. The Eagle Mountain is the highest mountain. There is even a Lake called Eagle Mountain Lake. It shares border with Iowa is to the south, Wisconsin is to the east and North and South Dakota is to the west.minnesota is the upper Midwest portion the Minnesota northern neighbors are the Canadians provinces Ontario and manitoba. Minnesota is considered the Great Lake state. 10,000 lakes that's what that call it but, it has about 12,000 lakes.the biggest river of Minnesota is the Mississippi. The capital of Minnesota is st.paul. Minnesota covers 84,402 SQUARE MILES in Midwest. There are 87 COUNTIES in Minnesota.

According in 1990 there were 4,375,099 people living in Minnesota. There are NO rain forests in Minnesota or NO desserts. The highest point is 2,301 feet above sea level. The lowest point is 602 feet above sea level along Lake Superior.

Burr,it is cold out. Did you know that Minnesota has 19-32 inches of snow and rain in Minnesota. Did you also know that the coldest temperature is 59°F in Minnesota. Did you also know that the hottest TEMPURTURE is 114°F in Minnesota. Also did you know that thunderstorms with hail are common in May and September.also did you know that the 4 seasons in Minnesota are summer, spring, fall, and winter. Did you also know that tornados whirl around in Minnesota during warm months. Have you ever been in traffic during the winter? Well, it is because there has been at least 4 inches of snow a year. And did you know that winter often drops to 0°F.

Have you ever saw the lumber jacks cut down trees? mining logging farming are popular in Minnesota. There are mining products like iron clay ore sand granite and limestone. Trees are used to make pulp and paper. Farming MN grows wheat and flour sugar beets berries corn vegetables and fruit. Milk hog turkey eggs cattle sheep lambs and boilers chicken on farms.

Trees and soybeans are renewable recourses.
