Gephyrophobia
Is the fear of driving over bridges. It occurs when the person is either driving, or is just a passenger.

Some people who have gephyrophobia might be afraid because they think the bridge the are driving on is going to collapse.

There is no exact number on how many people have gephyrophobia but, Maryland Transportation Authority had a program for gephyrophobics, about 4,000 people came.

This phobia affects daily life and travel. Gephyrophobics may go out of their way to avoid bridges, they may have to take longer routes, and some may not even reach their destination because of their phobia.

There is no sure way to get rid of gephyrophobiaome methods can be used to lower anxiety, such as driving over low bridges with shallow water or walking across a bridge.
