Collaborate
To work together
The class was told to collaborate on the assignment so that no one Would have to do all the work totally alone.

Coalesce
To merge; to fuse; to unite
Though each man had his own opinion, the group decided to coalesce into a unified force against the enemy.

Cryptic
Mysterious; secret
The meaning of the cryptic note was hidden from everyone who looked at it.

Prodigious
Enormous; vast; huge
My teacher gave us huge amount of homework, a prodigious task by anyone's standards.

Parody
Humorous, ridiculous imitation
The comedians skit was a parody of the recent inaugural addresses; although it was attended to be funny , not many people laughed.

Portent- a sign or forewarning
The large raindrops were a portent of the thunderous storm about to occur.

Surfeited-fed or supplied to excess
The starving boys were finally able to eat until they were surfeited.

Trifling- not significant; frivolous
The teachers regarded watching videos a trifling waste of time; they thinking I should avoid such frivolous times and do more studying.

Naive- unsophisticated
Even a beginner should not be so naive and so unsophisticated as she is.

Animosity
Harsh feelings; enmity; hate
We tried to avoid the conversation when we saw the animosity that the woman had about the issue; she was extremely angry and resentful about the matter.
