Who is your target audience?

  • Our target audience is teenagers, aged 15-18
  • Both genders targeted
  • From our survey we found that the main viewers of our movie were within this demographic

The ages of our viewing audience

How are they targeted in your media?

  • In our surveymokey results, we found that the most popular age group watching our movie was the 15-17 year old population
  • One of the questions in our survey was which aspect of thriller films the audience enjoyed most, the answer of this being the suspense elements
  • We used this information to try make our film as relatable as possible with our audience
  • By using different elements of suspense, we were able to please 100% of our audience

100% of our audience found our movie appealing

Our audience feedback did affect some of our filming and editing designs, as we found that the majority of our audience wanted the camera work and the music to be a major role in creating suspense. We used this information to select specific music to create a more dramatic mood, and used a variety of shots including many close ups and a POV shot from our killer to create suspense.

Distributing our media

  • As the generation who viewed our film are quite young, they are very technologically able.
  • This means one of the best ways to distribute our film is over social networking.
  • We used youtube to broadcast our film, and facebook to distribute it.
  • This was a very successful way to distribute our film, as we were able to show anyone who is connected to facebook, including family and friends overseas.

Facebook as a distribution form - positives

  • Facebook proved to be a very successful and easy form of distributing our media.
  • We were able to share the movie to all our friends and family both locally and overseas.
  • It was also then very easy to link them our survey asking for their feedback.

Facebook as a distribution form - negatives

  • Online you are not able to tell if the person has actually watched your film or done your survey, as you can only send them the links and not follow it through.
  • We got some results that ware not very serious, so online it is also hard to tell wether the results are completely accurate or not.
