  • To collect information about the area west of the Mississippi.
  • A Native American woman named Sacagawea joined their group as a guide.

  • During this time people had the determination to better their lives and to improve society all together.
  • William Cullen Bryant, an American writer from Massachusetts wrote poetry that revolved around the love

  • Thomas doughy, was the first successful landscape artist. Doughy also was a leader of the Hudson River school.
