EARLY LIFE

• Solomon was the second son of King David and Bathsheba.
• A conspiracy by Adonijah, Solomon's half-brother, tried to rob Solomon of the throne when their father died.
• Soloman killed Adonijah and his general Joab.

GOD'S GIFT

• God appeared to Solomon in a dream and promised him anything he asked.
• Solomon chose understanding and discernment. God was so pleased with the request that he granted it.
• God was pleased and also gave him riches and power.

DEATH OF SOLOMON

• Solomon was Israel’s third King. He was also known as Jedidiah (beloved of the Lord).
• His forty year reign is regarded as Israel’s golden age.
