1080

Yellow Hat

• The native trees and plants grow better because there are not so many possums around to eat them.
• Bird are increasing in population.
• It stops the possums and rats eating all the native birds.
• Using 1080, increses the rate of breeding.

Black Hat

• Kills other animals like dogs.
• 1080 could get into our water supply.
• Makes animals die in pain.
• The animals take awhile to decompose so all the other hungry animals will eat all of them and get poisoned themselves.
• There is no antidote for 1080 so if a person was poisoned, they would die.

Red hat

• I think 1080 is bad and we should not use it. I don't think it's fair for dogs to be muzzled while trying to get their mouth around a goats neck. Dogs have to be muzzled because otherwise they might eat 1080 when they go into the bush.
