2- show the gap between the models of program planning and evaluation and the planning of the Arabic program at Western Michigan University, where politics plays a significant role through the lens of the adult development theory
3- stages of adult development, the political effect on the planning and evaluation process, and models and tools for program planning and evaluation.

Literature Review

  • Lindeman (1994) advocated that the responsibility of adult education is to assist adults with change
  • Havan and Erturgut (2010), looked into the function of program planning as one of the most functional dimension of educational administration that defines the efficiency of educational policies and quality of education.
  • Merriam and Caffarella (1991) identify physical aging, psychological changes, and sociocultural factors as the three major contributors to models of adult development
Psychological changes include the personal development, ego development, and moral development. Sociocultural perspective on development works from the point of view that adult development cannot be understood apart from the socio-historical context in which it occurs

Discussion & Analysis

  • Coming after this stage of identity versus identity confusion, this is the period in which those young adults seek a sense of fulfillment by developing affiliations with community and social groups or peers in their social context
  • Motivation (establishing inclusion, developing attitude, enhancing meaning, and confidence.)
