PRESENTATION OUTLINE

MY ANTHOLOGY

A GREAT COLLECTION OF VERSE, MADE ON HAIKU DECK

Reflection
This is a reflection on my poems. The choice of poems was fairly easy, I did the main four we were introduced to and a sonnet. My haiku entitled assassin was fairly easy to create. Following the haiku pattern 5, 7, 5 i based it all around the simile, like a tiger waiting to pounce.

My cinquain poem was just randomly created based off of something random. I decided to build the animal up as something great but end with something comical , but however true.

The next poem is Limerick based on me. Basically adding basic facts with a darkish twist. I aimed for some assonance in the last three lines. The repeated vowel is the short e sound.

My sonnet was based on a real event. My grandfather did die exactly four years ago and hearing this inspired to commemorate how much of a great man he was.

Ballad
How do you write a ballad?
Many may ask
It's actually not that bad
And not an arduous task

A ballad is a poem
And sometimes even a song
Stanzas it will have around ten
So it's not actually that long

While it may be fun
There are some rules
But if you follow them
It will sound cool

Lines one and three must rhyme
The others have to too
Then you will have a good time
Writing a nice ballad you will do

Now you can put paper to pen
And write a word or two
It won't be stanza ten
But at least it will do

Now remember every stanza
Has four lines each
There isn't much more
That I have to teach

Now with everything
You can write more
You just have to think
Then out more words will pour

So there you have it
After listening to me
This is how you write
Some amazing ballad poetry

Four years ago, the world lost a great man
His untimely death affected many
Everyone again wished to hold his hand
Why him? you're guess is as good as any

It was beginning to hit all of us
That he was never going to come back
Everyone said how it was so unjust
All of our lives just became out of whack

Thankfully everyone gave us support
Which was very much appreciated
It helped us with the dark mind battle we fought.
But we just knew our hearts would not mend

In our hearts, none of us can go a day
Not thinking about him in a special day

In our hearts, none of us can go a day
Not thinking about him in a special day
