Our conclusion was for every penny the mass increased about two grams. Each penny weighs a little differently.

Facts: originally pennies were manufactured with 95% copper and 5% zinc, until 1982 they decided to use 97.5% zinc and 2.5% copper. This way was a lot cheaper.
