SOUTH CAROLINA

  • Eight English nobles with a Royal Charter from King Charles II in 1663
  • South Carolina is one of the states in the 13 colonies.
  • King Charles wanted to own more land to become more powerful
  • And people come here for religious freedom

  • They used boats to ship their items to trade
  • Covered wagons where used to carry goods and move around on land

The Region for South Carolina is south Atlantic they also called known as Old South

  • The colonist used the water ways to move goods to trade
  • Some of the major cash crops where also farmed tobacco, rice and indigo.

SOUTH CAROLINA'S PHYSICAL FEATURES ARE MOSTLY Rolling hills and costal plains with some forest areas and rivers

MAJOR EXPORTS AND INDUSTRIES

Concentrated on agriculture and developed the plantations exporting tobacco, cotton, corn, vegetables, grain, fruit and livestock

Native American trade

  • The native Americans where used as slaves that where exported to slave markets
  • South Carolina faced constant attacks by native Americans

The people made a Living by trading resources like tobacco and indigo

The colonist where made up of Anglo Saxon immigrants from England,Scotland,Ireland they where considered loyalist who wanted religious freedom
