While there has been increased awareness of the need to engage in Level 3 communications, we rarely work to engage in the deep work of Level 4 communications. For it is here, at the bottom of the U, that we must let go of our plans and assumptions.
While there has been increased awareness of the need to engage in Level 3 communications, we rarely work to engage in the deep work of Level 4 communications. For it is here, at the bottom of the U, that we must let go of our plans and assumptions.
Presencing utilizes spiritual practices, especially prayer and meditation, that allows us to let go of our assumptions in order to hear and to see what it is God is calling us to do.
We find letting go difficult so many times. Even when it is heavy, we keep carrying things we no longer need. By surrendering to what God wants us to do, we can transform these things into something light and joyful as we release them.
And as we let go, in a stance of openness, we surrender and are infused with a passionate connection to a future that is in God's hands. We don't have to control it to engage it.
Sometimes creating things together gets messy--and it's vibrant, and fresh, and we all get to get our hands in there. It increases ownership to build it together.
God comes to us in many ways, but as in the Old Testament, as we embrace stillness and grace, we can hear the "still, small voice" that leads us into sacred creativity and intention.
Entry into Level 4 can be challenged by the Resistance of the Voice of Fear. What if what we let go of is really valuable? What do we stand to lose? It is at the core of our faith to let go of our human ways and embrace the Way, even though it may be difficult. Yet we are assured that "My yoke is light."
As we engage in Presencing, or Open Will, we begin to move into the right side of the U, still connected to the Source, to Crystallize our vision and intention.
We stay connected to the Source as we intentionally work to reach out to those on the horizontal and vertical axes and begin to move from "Be" to "Do." We do not need to wait to perfect our action--rather we need to launch an intentional action in order to learn and adjust it based on the feedback response we get.
As we receive feedback and adapt our actions, we can refine our practices and infrastructures to improve our performance. Engagement in the U is not linear but circular, and we iterate, iterate, iterate.
