  • The king of England had trans-Channel possession of Anjou and Aquitaine
  • THis made England a strong vassal to FRance, but Friction between the two rulers, was inevitalbe

ROle of Ideas

  • Ideas about who was the rightful owner of the duchy of Aquitaine, were another idea that helped spark the war.
  • Edward the III challenged King Philip the vi to the right of the French throne after he took possession of Aquitaine.

  • THe Hundred Year's War was all started over land, as most wars are.
  • One event that also sparked the war, was when the English attacked a flemish community near Sluys

Scotland's Independence Movement

THe ROle of INDIVIDUALS

  • J.K. ROwling and AListair Darling were on the side of ''no'' in the voting.
  • On the side of ''yes'' though were individuals were honouring old battles and were looking at new oppurtunies as a free country.

  • The individuals behind the ''yes'' vote, wanted to harness Scotland's resources, whether that was human or natural.
  • J.K. Rowling had backed the ''no'' campaign, with 1.7 million dollars.

Scotland's INDEPENDENCE

  • Scotland's Independence movement was unfortunately voted as a no-go (55.3% no and 44.7% yes)
  • This was mainly caused by the younger voters were worried about jobs. Also other worries about funding, polocies, and etc.
