PRESENTATION OUTLINE

CLOWN FISH

  • Clown fish are known for their orange and white stripes.
  • They are part of one of the smallest fish species, Permnas.
  • They are mostly found in the pacific and Indian oceans.
  • They eat Zooplankton and sometimes algae.

GREEN TURTLES

  • Green turtles eat mostly seaweed.
  • Green turtles can grow up to 4 ft. in length.
  • The green turtle species is endangered because people are kicking them off their beaches.
  • Green turtles sleep on land occasionally.

HAMMERHEAD SHARK

  • Hammerhead sharks eat squid,fish,and octopus.
  • Hammerheads are sometimes found near shore because they like how warm it is.
  • They got there name after how there face looks. Like a hammer.
  • They sometimes swim in schools of sharks.

BARRACUDA

  • Barracuda like to eat fish that are tiny enough to swallow.
  • You can find barracuda anywhere worldwide, most of the time.
  • They defend themselves with their large and sharp teeth.
  • They are very dangerous when you get close to them.

MANATEE

  • Manatees are also known as the "sea cow".
  • Manatees eat seaweed because their bodies can digest it more easily.
  • They are found near coastal waters.
  • Manatees are endangered because of people and their boats.

RED ALGAE

  • Red algae is mostly found in Europe and Asia.
  • Red algae can come in red and green.
  • They are one of the oldest types of algae.
  • They help the coral reefs grow.

KELP

  • Grows in underwater forests in shallow waters.
  • It is a type of seaweed.
  • It comes in brown,green and yellow.
  • The word "kelp" means ashes.

CAULERPA

  • Caulerpa is a type of seaweed.
  • It is Found mostly in the Indian Ocean.
  • It is a lime green color.
  • It comes in beds of algae.

SEAGRASS

  • Seagrass are flowering plants.
  • Seagrass forms in beds and meadows.
  • Most animals eat Seagrass because it can be digested easily.
  • Seagrass looks exactly like normal grass.

CORAL

  • Coral comes in many different colors and sizes.
  • Coral can catch fish and plankton.
  • Coral is mostly found in coral reefs. Not all of it.
  • Most of it is found in Australia.

WEATHER

  • The climate north of the equator is a monsoon climate. It gets a lot of precipitation.
  • The Indian is part of the tropical oceans and it is the warmest out of all of them.
  • The temperature is 68°F sometimes in the water.
  • Most animals can tolerate the weather .

LANDSCAPE

  • It borders the Indian Ocean, the Pacific ocean etc.
  • It has a lot of precipitation there.
  • Turtles come, so they marked off an area especially for them.
  • People mostly litter on the beaches and never clean it up, so some of it is dirty.

  • The Indian Ocean is the 3rd largest body of saltwater in the world.
  • It covers 20% of the Earth's surface.
  • There are many minerals in the sand surrounding the Indian Ocean.
  • 40% of the world's oil comes from the Indian Ocean.
  • The Indian Ocean gets 20 cm wider every year.
