PRESENTATION OUTLINE
In the Little Mermaid, Ariel's "call to adventure" is when Ariel saves Prince Eric from the shipwreck, which pushes Ariel to join him and his world.
The Threshold is Ursula's cave because it is where Ariel makes her transition from the mermaid world (known world) to the human world (unknown world). "Come in, Come in, my child. We mustn't lurk in doorways. It's rude, one might question your upbringing" Ursula says to Ariel.
Some of the challenges were King Triton forbidding Ariel to see Prince Eric/the Human world. Kind Triton states, "Contact between the human world and the mer world is strictly forbidden. Ariel, you know that! Everyone knows that." Another challenge was Ariel losing her voice because of Ursula taking it. Along with becoming a human and trying to use her new legs. Also, Ariel only having three days to get Prince Eric to fall in love with her and When Ariel had to try and stop Vanessa (Ursula) from marrying Eric.

The theme of the Little Mermaid is: Change that is not needed in oneself can have serious consequences. Explanation: Ariel wanted to see Prince Eric against her dad's wishes so it led to a contract with Ursula which ran out. Her dad then gave up his crown and triton to save Ariel.
